Going out on top

Stephen Fleming's best ever ranking on the ICC player ratings? 725 - which made him the 13th best batsman in the world. When did he achieve that rating? During the third test against England in 2008...

Not just on top, but on the rise. If you look at his graph, he's risen 50 points over the last few months. It really looks like if he'd stayed on a few more years he'd be retiring with an even better record.

If he stayed on and got his average up to 40.10 he would move ahead of Bert Sutcliffe on the best averages list...

Staying on he might have broken into the ICC top 10.

Now you're pushing it a little Ben...

He would have to score more centuries for that, and we all no that isn't going to happen,
