Tour preview

Ah, if you can close your nose against the stench coming from the ICC for just a second you will notice that the smell of freshly mown grass is in the air. The New Zealand tour to Zimbabwe is about to get underway and Andrew McLean is whetting our appetite with a very tasty preview.

I'm afraid I can't ignore the stench of moral decay coming from the ICC, only made up for by the moral strength of the NZ government who have been stronger than the UK and Australian governments in trying to find a solution.

A series against a team weakened drastically by a corrupt regime offers no appeal to me. And after this series, there is the likelihood of no test cricket until April 2006, and then nothing until Feb 2007.

Three meaningful tests in the next 18 months is all we have to look forward to.
