Shiv resigns

Shivnarine Chanderpaul has resigned as captain of the West Indies. Poor guy. He didn't seem a natural leader to start with and he never looked comfortable in one of the roughest jobs in world cricket. I can't see a better candidate though. Brian Lara has never done well in the role, Chris Gayle is too casual and Ramnaresh Sarwan has issues with his form.

Runako Morton is the man for the job - get some random craziness in there.

I think they should go the way of the NZ teams in the 1990s and choose someone young, promising and talented. Dwayne Bravo might be a useful choice.

Will WIndies be the new Pakistan where they soon could have at least half their team being ex-captains!

I was going to suggest Bravo, he has such a good head, but how much pressure would that put on a 23 year old who already contributes so much with bat and ball?

Lara will probably be quite happy to bask in the glory and adulation of captaining the Windies team to a series win against a 3rd XI school team from Africa

Bravo is to young for the and needs to keep on developing as a player. Lara shoudl take on the role in the interim (it may lift his game) and he could also look to retire from Test cricket as the team captain too (loves the accolades).
