Ben on...clashing clashes

Great. The IPL will clash with a New Zealand series again next year. The schedule has been announced and will run from 10 April to 29 May. However, we have an international series scheduled for February to April.

It is no surprise that the BCCI is willing to schedule the IPL to clash with New Zealand fixtures. The big surprise though is that the other team in that series, who will also have to deal with the clash, is India.

Wow, that'll be interesting..

Someone's not thought this lark through, I suspect..

I wonder if it will mean a rather weakened Indian side coming here.

I think we can safely predict that the India tour to NZ will coincidentally finish about 2 weeks before the start of IPL09.

Anyway, as proven by the current State Championship Final, cricket in NZ in April’s not really worth it.

Maybe they could play the tour in South Africa, then you guys will only need 3 day tests.

jrod: Ouch

I suspect things will change, mostly dependent on how much money the IPL makes.
