The weather has been damp and humid and Eden Park has a drop in pitch. I really hope we can win the toss. Watching an almost squeeky new top order face Fidel Edwards on a green-top will be too much for me to cope with.
Fifty years ago, almost to the day, a test match began at Eden Park involving New Zealand and the West Indies. Here's DJ Cameron to tell us what happened next.

Hi Mike, can't find an e-mail addy for you so I'm hoping you'll see this. I have an idea for cross-posting blog entries (commentaries) on our respective blogs throughout this NZ v WI series.
I'd set up a caribbeancricket.com/weblog account for you and have a fun feature where the 'opposing viewpoint' is presented. I'll reciprocate with the West Indies view. Are you game?

Come on chaps, Styris has got a century and just picked up two wickets in an over!
Hey Ryan,
Sounds like an excellent idea! Email me at mikeythorn@[delete this bit]yahoo.com and I will set you up with an account here.
I have checked out your blog before by the way and think it is excellent.
